William H. “Bill” Myers II, age 66, of Warsaw, Missouri passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born on December 9, 1945, in Independence, Missouri the son of William H. and Alice (Harrison) Myers.
Bill grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Van Horn High School in 1963. In 1969 he enlisted in the United States Navy as a “Seabee” working on various Naval construction projects. After his military service he returned to Kansas City and later moved to Warsaw where he worked as a plumber.
In the early 1970’s Bill was united in marriage to Barbara Henry. He later was united in marriage to Sue French on June 5, 1993. They made their home in Saddlebrook Development near Warsaw. Unto this union one daughter, Lorie Marie Myers was born.
Bill was a member of the American Legion Post #217 and the VFW Post #5894 both of Warsaw. He loved to fish, hunt, play darts and pool.
He is preceded in death by his wife Sue, his father and a step-son Guy Henry.
He is survived by his mother, four daughters, Vicki, Henry, of Springfield, Missouri, Dawn Henry, of Blue Springs, Missouri, Janine Simmons, of Raymore, Missouri, and Lorie Myers, of Warsaw, Missouri, one son, John Henry, of Kansas City, Missouri, two step sons Darrell French, of Odessa, Missouri and Andy French, of Belton, Missouri, three sisters, Sharon L. Wade, and her husband Edward, of Independence, Missouri, Denise Brummel, and her husband David, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, and Pamm Collins, and her husband Terry, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, two brothers, Chris Myers, and his wife Debbie, of Greenwood, Missouri and Dennis Myers, and his wife Mike, of Lee’s Summit, eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services for William H. “Bill” Myers II will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Reser Funeral Home, in Warsaw, Missouri, with Rev. Loren Simons, officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Graveside Services and Military Rites will be held in the Shawnee Cemetery, in Warsaw.
